I love an antelope’s smile I will paint one wide by a mile Giving the colour freely Never hesitating, eventually The canvas portrays A sweet cherished face For I love to see antelopes smile A steady creature beguiling Stealth steps sturdy in stride A beautiful animal I’d love so much to ride It becomes part of the wind of life Dashing through grasses Across plains so bleak For when it smiles It is trying to speak Grazing in amazing numbers Each one is trying to smile Their coats quivering In the heat all the while Shaking off numerous bites That aggravate a might Keeping a low profile With its own mate It says as the antelope smiles I’ll see you at the gate.
